Organ in its original installation in Stoney Point,
Ontario
|
Visitation is a new parish which brings together four area parishes: Church of
the Annunciation [Stoney Point], St Joachim [St Joachim], Our Lady of Lourdes [Comber], and
Holy Redeemer [Staples]. The new church building was opened in
2006. Pole and Kingham were commissioned to move and rebuild the
Annunciation instrument for the new church.

Although the Casavant organ was still operating fairly well on its
original pneumatic action, the Grand Orgue chest had suffered several sessions of water
damage over the years and was unusable. The rebuilding and transplant provided a
convenient opportunity to install a new pitman chest.
At some point in its history, the keydesk had been detached from the case and
moved back to the gallery rail. The open parts of the now exposed console frame had been
covered with paneling that did not match the style and quality of the keydesk. We made new
oak panels to match the keydesk.
