Essex Christian Reformed Church, Essex, Ontario. Woodstock II/15

This organ was purchased from First Baptist Church in Leamington in 1968 when the Leamington church installed a new Casavant. The Woodstock instrument was transplanted successfully to a gallery in the A-frame church.

In recent years, the organ has been improved, both mechanically and tonally. On an organ of this size, 4 string ranks are redundant, so two of the strings were rescaled: the Great Dulciana to form a Nazard, and the Swell Viol to form a Piccolo. A new Fifteenth was added to the Great.

The mechanical improvements were carried out in 3 stages: first a solid state relay and AGO/RCCO pedalboard, then a combination action, and in June of 2001, a MIDI system with sequencer and sound module. Peterson Electro-Musical Products, whose plug in system was an advantage in this 3-stage process, provided all electronic parts.
