The organ additions that are most suitable for memorials need either to be visible in the
church or to have a distinctive sound that can be discerned when used with regular organ
voices.
The items we list below are usually considered special additions to a pipe organ and not really
part of the basic organ chorus. Nevertheless, they are useful voices which are
appreciated by members of the congregation.

of these additions.
Chimes
Available in 21 or 25 note sets, these can be attractively mounted
visibly on a wall in the church and include a wood canopy.
New Chime
Action
Sometimes the church has a good set of chimes that has become
unusable due to action failure and lack of spare parts for the earlier twentieth century models.
However a new chime action can restore these old chimes to life.
As the new action is not dependent upon organ wind, the rebuilt unit can be mounted visibly in
the church. A simple relacquering of the chime tubes will make them appear like new.
Single
Chime
On occasion, we have installed a solitary chime tube which can
be used when a bell sound is desirable, including a call to worship. The tube may be enclosed in
the swell box to make it more versatile.
Zimbelstern [or Cymbelstern ]
The
Zimbelstern features several brass bells that are sounded in rotation by a small striker. They
are usually installed in the organ case or chamber, but models such as the one shown to the
left are suitable for visible installation.

similar to wind chimes

tremulant.
Although the box has an adjustable volume flap, the stop is intended for installation in the swell
box.

Trompette en Chamade
This solo Trumpet makes a stunning
display and a dramatic sound. The horizontal installation allows all the harmonics of the pipes to
reach the listener.
